Hovercraft

Extract from the official R.N.L.I. journal-“The Life-Boat”,December 1962.The picture above hangs in the Boathouse, together with a photo of Coxswain Campini receiving the silver medal from H.R.H.Princess Marina,Duchess of Kent, at the Royal Albert Hall,in the May of 1963.

The following 3 photos were taken by Mr. Brian Whitehead. He was on the promenade when the hovercraft came ashore, and used his Mini car headlights to illuminate the scene, also helping to secure the craft to the railings. Thanks for letting me publish these photos, Brian.
