3 Rhyl crewmen were requested by the RNLI Flood Response Team in North Wales, to attend the flooding of Cumbria around Cockermouth and Workington. They used the station LandRover LR102 to travel in convoy to Cumbria, with other members of the North Wales team. Crew members Martin Jones, Darrel Graham and Callum Robinson, under the command of Deputy District Inspector Matt Croft, arrived in the area at 2200 and immediately were set to work in rescuing residents using RNLI rescue boats and D class ILBs and Arancias in conjunction with the other rescue services.
The teams returned to North Wales at 1300 on Saturday 21st November, assisting up to 200 people from their dwellings. Their base was Carlisle castle.
