Rhyl Lifeboat launched for a medical evacuation from an accommodation vessel for the windfarms, 5 miles off Rhyl. A helicopter from RAF valley was in the area and was also tasked. Both units arrived on scene at the same time, so the lifeboat stood off until the winchman was lowered from the helicopter on to the vessel. The casualty was assessed as being OK to be airlifted, so the lifeboat again stood by until this was completed, and the casualty was on his way to Rhyl hospital in the helicopter. The lifeboat was then released and returned to station at 1.30pm.
