The RNLI’s coast review team will visit Rhyl RNLI station on 20th January 2016. The purpose of the visit is to evaluate lifeboat cover along the coastline of the UK and Ireland, and determine what rescue assets should be placed at each station. This visit will concentrate on the stations between Holyhead and New Brighton, visiting each station along the coast. This is part of a new process being undertaken to improve and re-evaluate what cover the particular stretch of coastline requires. Our All-weather lifeboat “Lil Cunningham” is getting on for 24 years old, so the station at Rhyl is very interested in what the future may hold .
